From this publication, RINA showcase the 2017 Training Award from the last Safety4Sea 2017 Conference and Awards held at Athens Greece last October 3, 2017.

With the Competency Management System (CMS) covering all the aspects in the preparation and assessment of the competency of the seafarers and shore based personnel for the new requirements of the shipping industry, we continuously strive to fill the gaps on competency and further enhance skills aided by advanced technology, incessant improvement and application of training systems and methods to keep the shipping workforce adept in keeping up with the changing needs of the industry. One of the strong points of the new system is that it can be continuously updated, and can also be tailored for the type of vessel, type of trade and type of cargo. The system is arranged in such way that it is continuously in contact with the owner, the ruling body of the shipping, and is also monitoring data coming from port state control, vetting, and any other inspections done onboard the vessel. This is in order to update and/or adjust the training with holistic consideration of all the mentioned factors.

RINA Academy has been chosen to be included in the last September 2017 shortlisted nominees for the 2017 Training Award. It is therefore one of the blessing and highlights of the 10th year anniversary celebration of RINA Academy Philippines Inc. to be concluded as the 2017 Training Award winner happened last October 3, 2017 at Yacht Club of Greece.
